General enquirey

I am writing to see if anyone has a problem like mine and if they have a solution or any suggestions to fix.

I recently purchased a Toyota Coaster motorhome fitted with a Dometic electric awning.

The awning has one problem that i am trying to overcome.

When the awning is closed and it rains the rain runs into the awning and when it is released it gushes out over the ground.

my fear is that as there is approx 4 litres of water each time it rains the weight of the water could cause the awning to tear or collapse

does anyone have any  suggestions on how to fix this problem or can recommend anyone that may.

I have found phoning Dometic is a waste of time

Welcome to the gang John, enjoy here and out in the playground.

As for your awaning, sorry I can't suggest anything but if you mention what area you are I or someone else may know of a place.

If no luck here, pop the question into the 'Techie' section of the forum.

Keep Safe out there.

Hi John. Well I am also new here but familiar with the fiamma roll out awning - how does the awning case sit on the van, What I am trying to determine is how the water is getting into the casing. and perhaps if the slots are not at right angles to the vehicle side that may be the source in which case you may just have to gently drill a small drain hole in the case ... there are awning specialist around that may be able to help such as the awning man in Brisbane might be an idea to put up a photo of your installation with this question

Good luck and welcome to the site
