Mine is medically required so we have two swivel recliners after we removed the, the uncomfortable (for me) club lounge. I am in the process of designing a "mouse table" to attach to my chair.

We have been toying with putting recliners in our van, but as our van is only 15 foot we've decided to wait untill I retire and then purchase a larger van with ensuite, and recliners instead of a club lounge. Our current setup is just too uncomfortable to sit at for any length of time, it seemed to be ok when looking at the van at the caravan show when we only sat in it for probably 30 or so minutes and then ordered the van. I guess its all part of having to own/design 2 or 3 vans before you get it right..
So first timer, if you were looking at say a 24ft van you would choose recliners. And have to agree most vans have uncomfortable 90' upright seats to relax in. Come on everyone don't be shy put in your spoke!
Just to put the record straight we are planning on selling the house, up the jobs, retiring, permanently to our van i.e. true nomads!!!! (dougwe)
Because of my health issues we were stuck with having to have a 24' with en suite, which gave us the room for the recliners. As I spend 80% of my waking hours having to be comfortably seated this allows us to tour at OUR leisure.
hi Guys, I repair furniture for a living and although I highly recommend Aussie Pauls swivel recliner, many of my customers complain about the foam in there lounge suite being too soft or too hard. to solve this I replace the foam with a different density which usually fixes the issue. So if your club lounge is uncomfortable speak to a foam retailer, it could be a cheep option.

When I was sitting down with the dealer I orderd my van from I said I wanted recliner chairs ior at least one but he started on about resale value etc etc so I gave in. WROOOONG. Bad move. I wish I had have stood my ground. Just recently I purchased a deck chair that fits between the table and fridge so I can lay back with my feet up on a foot rest and pillow behind my head. Better than nothing.
I love my van though.

Definitely any van we get from now on will have recliners. I doubt we would go as big as 24 ft but if we did I would consider putting them in a slideout thus giving more room around the kitchen area. I think we would only go up to 19 or 20 ft when we buy our next van.

I hadn't thought of changing the foam in our lounge. I think our problem is the back rest is too upright and the seat is too narrow, so we arent able to recline at all and just can't get comfy. We've decided not to do anything with this van as there's not really enough space for the recliners.
A couple of times now I've done the same as dougwee and put the camp chair in beside the fridge and thats been better.
The wife and i decided when we ordered our 20 ft safari delta to have the recliner chairs which come with foot-rests also.
We pick it up next month so we will let you all know how good or not it is.
p.s it has a tri fold table in-between.

We have a 24ft 5th wheeler with recliners In the slide out wouldn't have it any other way one can layback comfy and have a nap or sit up and read a book or suss out what's happening on the greynomad website in comfort only way to go for us.

Our Crusader came with recliners and foot stools and is one of the reasons we love it, the centre of the van is much more open. i have to admit we have only been out on a2 night test run so far but the are great. Being able to swivel means we can always face the way we want so we can face each other at the table or swing around to watch TV without having to sit all twisted up. Also there is no sliding past the cafe bench and they are comfy as..
