not sure if this is the correct place to post ? 

I shouted my two sons and family to US .

All 8 of us including 2 grandchildren .. 

hired a 15 seater van thinking it would be better for suit cases etc..

trouble is the seats went ALL the way to back door ..  So we removed the head rests and slid the empty suit cases over the rear seats ..  We drove from LA , Vegas , Colorado Springs , Lincoln then to my brothers place in Naperville Ill.. ( Chicago) 

then 4 nights in New York .. Didn't like it much..  Took a uber out to see  Orange County Choppers  garage . They have a program on Fox where they build custom bikes / Choppers..  Then had lunch at their restaurant ..  Good food at good price  then latter in Lynchburg Texus we went to Gas Monkey garage .. They have resturant around the corner ..Met some fello Aussie couple there who have very much the same interests .. Cars / real estate etc.. They dropped us back at the hotel .. Then we drove back to LA stopped off at Foose  garage ..  We all went to Disneyland. And Wolf lodge .Kansas . Which is like Disney only with water ..https://www.greatwolf.com

Top place to go to even for adults ..  The whole time weather was fine 85 to 104*f  the whole time ..  On way back we stayed 4 nights in Hawaii on way back..  The girls enjoyed shopping in outlets in Chicago, Vegas , New York.. Suit cases full.. Lucky the plane was 3/4 full the last leg home .. Fastest 5 weeks we've ever had..  Pics coming once uploaded off iPhone .. 

Oh yea some trips where 8 or so hours . Speed on open road is 70 to 80 mph .. I guess around 130 / 140 kph .. 

9.000 miles in a Transit van in 5 weeks ..  more luxury van would have cost more . Plus was an issue hireling over 4 weeks for some reason ... We drove over and back due to $4k charge to return van.. That's on top of pricey hire charge ..

My daughter inlaw and son went with Chicago police car on patrol .. There was a couple of shootings etc.. They stayed in patrol car .. Who wouldn't .. An old van had bullet holes through it .. They thought the police car wouldn't give them much protection..
Seems they don't like conflicts with police as jail means no income .. They earn up to 5k a week.. Most shootings are gang related ..
The drugs are often sold to wealthy areas .. The police know this .. Nothing much they can do about it .. Sheesh ..

Was very very amassed how many motorhomes on the road.. Many many retro like this one .. The type with rounded front and back from the 50's in shiny alloy or stainless steel .. Looked absolutely fine ..  Seeing 1000's of motorhomes like wrecking yards in the country too..

Looks like a fun time was had by all just a bit confused though the recon we are up side down down under in oz yet they seem to be on there side who would have thought
