Let The Elderly Die.....NT Health Minister...

Don't worry that most have paid taxes all their lives, let them die.

I wonder what his attitude will be if he is ever in that position.

Actually Weevil, even though the journo did misquote the Minister, he didn't didn't go as far as to make up a completely inaccurate and inflammatory headline... but you did.

Seems pretty accurate to me, where does it say it is inaccurate.   Have you known anyone with end stage renal failure?  I have. I also know a couple of current GN members who are terminally ill but is battling on, so should the plug be pulled on them?   Clive James is still writing and producing written works due to his ongoing treatment despite being diagnosed with terminal blood cancer and has been for a number of years (since 2010).

Most aged people paid their taxes all their working lives which contributed to providing hospitals and other services for children, I think they deserve a bit of consideration in their later lives.

I stand by my subject title, irrespective of your opinion.

I worked in aged for many years and it never ceased to amaze me the number of times that DRs ordered expensive tests and investigations for people in their 80's and 90's many of whom had multiple health problems and a poor quality of life, when they had no intention of doing anything when the results where known. To me this was a waste of the limited health fund budget.

The words in your title 'Let The Elderly Die' don't appear anywhere in the article. You simply dreamed up the most shocking title you could.

No-one, including the minister is suggesting the plug be pulled on anyone... he's merely stating that there is only so much money to go around and he is suggesting that younger people should be given higher priority... which is simply common sense.

You could have said I disagree with that and why instead of a personal attack on me which is what you did, no wonder members don't post here or leave the forum.

My title words may not be the same as the articles but to me that is what he means, I called it like I saw it.

I am entitled to write a thread title without a personal attack from you, read the rules of the forum, you obviously don't know them.

If you feel attacked Weevil.. how do you think the Minister would feel when he did nothing wrong at all?
