OMG; where do I start; Is it times like this we need mintees or is it when we find out who you true friends & supporters are?

I'll do this the only way I know how. For those that misssed the post it was removed from this section,  edited & reposted in the I digress section, titled P O I. maybe I could have posted in there but would it have made any difference at the end of the day, no.

My wording was that cattle stations were taken back by the pollies & handed over to the @%$, ( aboriginals) for which I have been labeled.

Look at the big picture, the english  language has many abreviated words & names to the point where we dont even know what some mean.

Names; Australia, Aussies & bloody proud of it; British, Poms; America, Yanks, New zealand, Kiwi's & proud of it.

Therefor the word used was to name a nationality, not racist as according to some one.

Yep, I know I cant spell & don't have a uni degree in english so what, I hated school & couldn't get out fast enough so at 14yrs I was out & running the family dairy farm, From there I have never been out of a job, for 15yrs I worked two full time jobs & for 12 mths of that I had to do three jobs, farm included untill the family sold it. Yep I've burnt a lot of mid-night oil, burnt the candle at both ends & even lit it in the middle to get through. Education does not mean every thing.

This morning I have been swamped with emails & PM's so please friends take this as a reply, or we will be here all day.

Through this forum over the yrs we have meet about 70 members, some past & present & several here in the west side of the block who could not do enough for us during the last few weeks, thankyou.

Some of these have become very good friends, not all Aussies either some Dutch & our close neighbours the Kiwi's, or should that be New Zealander's.,They have opened their homes to us & ours to them, their love & friendship we hold close to our hearts.

I read in a recent post about people using the PM as abusive, of the hundreds of these I;ve received for help & info there has not been a bad one.

These people do not have the manners or the guts to make direct contact through PM or email as my profile is all on the table for all to see which will identify them selves so they relay through Cindy, so the PM is not always the problem. So at the end of the day who really is being racist as some nameless mystery pack wishes to  degrade my name but i'm not suppose to be offended by it. IF there is an apology to come out of this them maybe it should be from the complainer.

Again  thanks for so many PM's & emails all in support, some of you we have meet & the others yet to have the pleasure. Now If I'm still a bad boy so be it, in the mean time I'll leave it in your hands, you be the judge as we need to do the nut & bolt, make a mile or three.

Remember friends, its a mean dog that barks from behind the hedge!

Cheers;

JC.

I'am one that is glad that you are staying, like many other you helped, you showed me a way with the wiring of our water pump for the van.

The people that worry about  LITTLE insuffic things should look out side the box and have a look what is going with the world, and get a life, then get on with it.

Well written, for a lot of us our learning was at the school of hard knocks, so you are not alone in that. It has made us wise, and able to think outside the square.

Your wide knowledge base is amazing, and the forum would be a poorer place I thought you, and some others who go out of their way to help when needed.

I read your original post, and saw nothing wrong with it. Unfortunately, there are some who try to impose their "political correctness " on others, without exposing themselves. What do we do about it, that answer I don't know.

Enjoy the rest of your trip with Leoni, and we hope to see you somewhere along the road.

Poor old justcruisin01 just doesn't seem to get it, or more likely chooses not to.

Calling most folks who came from England, Poms, is generally totally accepted by them. The same can be said about Kiwis and various other nationalities.

Where the difference comes in is when a group of people are referred to by a term many find offensive and have, over many years, voiced their displeasure at.

You claim that you're not racist, but when you use an offensive label to describe those of a certain group, you certainly act as if you are.

It's not political correctness gone mad when no longer is it OK to use the term you used in your deleted post, it's simply the way it should be in this century.

You are probably very nice people, judging by the number of supporters you have on this forum. Don't let yourself down by using derogatory terms about people from other races.

Thanks J&L for taking the time and trouble to explain it to those of us who did not see the original post.

I can count among my family and friends many who are of aboriginal descent and who call themselves blackfellas. They do not see this as derogatory. I suppose it all depends on the context of the statement you made and as I did not see that then I cannot comment.

So glad you are still here so go and make a few miles and see some more of this lovely country us and the blackfellas call home.

We all know that political correctness sucks the big ones. However, I am all in favour of saying what is and how it is, not fancied up or changed as to not offend a few who can't handle the truth.

In saying this, I am most assuredly in favour of letting someone know they have offended me and then sorting it out. Way too much controversy and bad taste backstabbing has occurred all over the place (not just on this forum) because folks need to grow a pair to tell others they have peed them off. BTW if this pees you off, I welcome your PM.

Why not try this for a change, be nice to each other, put the knives away and enjoy this forum for what it is, grey nomads helping other grey nomads and having some FUN FFS!!!! Rant over

Our late much beloved member Gary Kelly would no doubt trade places with any one of us and likely tell us all we don't really have a problem...we are alive....able to make our own choices....choices he never got to fulfil with his PJ.......
I know one way to weaken the ardour of those that hide behind anonymity........simply moderate any post and include:' this post has been moderated due to a direct complaint to me by XXXXXXXXX'

Many of us have had posts moderated and rarely do we personally think it is justified......we continue to post constructive posts or leave......our choice.....a choice Gary Kelly would dearly love I'm sure......

Let's stop pissing in each others pockets with negativity, and wake up to a magnificent sunrise, blue skies,....and an exciting future....its our own choice.....and we owe it to each member of this Forum including Cindy, to remain positive and move forward........Hoo Roo

I don't like to see people leave forums at any time, especially those that have made, and continue to make, worthwhile contributions. So from that point of view it is good to see Just Crusin' staying

That said, however, rightly or wrongly, there are terms, words and phrases that are no longer acceptable in modern society. That's life. As such, we all need to modify our language to suit the times.

In this case, I think Cindy made the right call, and I have to agree with Iza that the comment, even though not meant in a racist manner, was unacceptable.

Whether we agree with how the matter was raised with Cindy or not is not the issue. Some people are happy to raise there beliefs and objections in the open forum, and face the public "music", while others prefer to use the channels available to them. Such is life, and it is not fair to belittle someone for following a perfectly reasonable process to raise their issues with Cindy, when their opinions are different to our own. The public forum can be a cruel place if your opinions don't fit!

And I agree with the comment re Gary. Too many people get het up about the little things, without thinking how lucky we are to be able to enjoy our chosen lifestyle. We should all just get on with enjoying it. I am certain he would have.

I welcomed you back on another forum Jim & Leonie. I saw the so called offensive post and never thought twice about it.

Having spent some years in Charlies Trousers (Charters Towers) working around pure aborigines, those off cattle stations, and hearing what they called Coastal aborigines, in front of whites, would curl your hair. They detested the part white, part aborigine. That's a fact!

I may be wrong, but it seems the most offended on here are newbies, judging by number of posts or just lurkers waiting to jump.

Well I were not going to buy into this but here is my two bobs worth .
Back in the mid 70s I worked in WA with some aboriginals mostly they were great blokes a few Were not but that's life
I have also worked with white fellows too mostly great blokes too some werent that's life,
Some I wouldn't P on if they were on fire as the saying goes ( but being who I am I would put the fire out )
My point being the colour of the skin does not make the the person inside its the attitude , what they say and how they say it (the tone of the voice says a lot more than the words usually do, and this Is very hard to do with the written word )
and what they do is what really matters and that has always been how I chose my friends
If people treat me well I will treat the the same way if they want to be rude or grumpy I will walk on by
Life is too short to have grumps in it, I prefer to be happy in my life and surround myself with happy people.
Like others who have posted here I left school at 16 by then I had tought them teachers all I could so went to work learned lots more life long lessons In the school of hard knocks than ever I did at "school"
One of the major ones was also in WA
That I may not have had the prettiest face in the pub, but I really liked the way it was shaped now.
There is never a winner in a fight the only thing that is proved is that one can hit harder than the other not who was right

So I learn very quickly to keep some of my opinions to my self.

Perhaps some on here should do the same

Hi all,
Thanks for your comments. It’s great that justcruisin01 has decided to stay with us. He is a highly valued member of our forum who has been with us for a long time ... and hopefully he will be with us for a time to come.
I hope that we can now all move on and get back to discussing the wonderful grey nomad lifestyle. Thanks everyone.
