Home again to 5' high weeds and lots of work BUT give me the road. Can I go now?

Well we are back from our 13 weeks away, a trip that took in Port Augusta, Cooper pedy, Alice Springs, Katherine, Adelaide River, Darwin, Kakadu, Pine Creek, 3ways, Mt Isa, Normanton, Karumba, Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, Maryborough, Kingaroy, Toowoomba, Burke, Cobar, Broken Hill, Crystal Brook and then home - 14500K's and a fabulous trip

We free camped for about a 1/3 of the time in places that were just so gloriously peaceful, even though at times there were as many as 20 other campers at the same place. Makes me want to hitch up the wagon and just go do it again! If anyone would like to know what our setup entails for free camping I'd be happy to give you the details - but it was done on a minute budget.

Don't think I have seen you here so welcome to the gang, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Daz, close ya eyes, turn around and get on outa there mate. I reckon playing in the playground is a much better idea and I tell you that for free.

Well done, get out there again soon!
As a side note this might be interesting regarding your 5ft high weeds.
Back in the 70's we looked after our parents house while they were away in QLD for 3 months over Winter.
Father-in-law planted some radishes before departing.
In a very rich organic vegie patch full off manure they grew to 6ft in height & as big as soccer balls! LOL.

Daz,

Love the photo, made me laugh, good luck with weeding. For them to grow that big you can't live near me, in winter it's too cold and nothing grows.

Would be interested in set up and what you did to free camp.

Tora

Hi Darryl. Great to see a newish member posting great stuff like this one here.

We'd all love to hear more about your travels (once you've chopped down those weeds lol) - it must have been a bit of a shock to go to places like Cooper Peedy (assuming it was your 1st time) - nothing but sand hills, eccentric locals, and the biggest rubbish dump you've ever seen !! That's comparing it to your beautiful green and lush home State.........

And it's also welcome from us two 2 so coming home to a sight like that must have been a bit of a shock so just mow it down and head off again as it looks like the garden had a great time while you were away too
.
