Hi . Just a query about these batteries. I've got the van parked up and I check condition occasionly ie no ants getting in solar charging bat.etc. Anyway I checked on weekend and discovered the solar wasn't charging and bat was flat, on further looking I discovered that two internal lights had been left on hence I believe the reason for flat battery, so I hooked up to 240v to see if it would recharge bat and got no response so took bat out of van and hooked up a bat charger, still no reponse. Put a meter on and it read minus .66v.
So what happening is the bat buggered.
Could some of you knowledgeable people give me some hints on whats going on please.
Unless you are reading the meter wrong, or have it set on the wrong setting, I'd say it's buggered. The only thing you could try is flashing it, but unless you know how to do that, it is a bit risky, and would only be a temporary thing anyway.

Minus .66v. A wonder your meter didn't chuck a hissy fit. That is not a good reading at all and I would say, yep buggered for sure. I don't even think mouth to mouth or those zappy things will bring that one back to the playground Ashley.
I would also check into why your Solar didn't keep things charged as it should have? Might be a loose connection? Is there a switch somewhere that might have been knocked off somehow?

I would be inclined to take the battery to a Battery shop and ask their advise. AGM's are too expensive to just throw away. The battery shop that I go to is only too happy to test & advise, gratis.
Even once you sort out the battery, I'd recommend installing a battery monitor system so that once the battery drops to a certain level the power is cut, thus avoiding flattening the batteries completly.

Thanks for your replies guys. Looks like I'll be of to the battery shop on Thursday. I'll wait and see what he has to say before making any changes to the van.
