wondering what others think - but I'm getting a little tired of paying my caravan park fees like everyone else, and never being able to get near the pool because of bloody kids!
I think it's high time that there were certain hours when kids are banned from pools- even just a couple of hours a day to let the fee-paying adults have a dip!
rather than just whinge, I'd really like to know if there is a way we, as a group can put some pressure on parks to do something about this??
We mostly travel out of school vacation time and don't see a lot of kids in the pool at most places. Occasionally we are somewhere during school vacations, as we were in Broome last October and we expected to see a lot of kids in the pool, and just put up with it. I don't see why they shouldn't be able to use the facilities if they want, caravan parks charge fees for kids too. We looked for places with pools when our kids were young enough to travel with us.
As kids we used to throw a chocito chocolate bar (looks very similar to human faeces) into the pool and watch everybody's reaction as they got out of the pool.

My nine year old granddaughter was really shy about getting into a CP pool recently as there were 5 old men & women lounging around on the very small pool grassed area - not even swimming. Just using the lounge chairs to expose their very large bodies to the sun while reading! I felt like telling her to do some belly flops and splash them! Needless to say she didnt want to swim for long - and this is a kid who loves swimming.

We can not complain re the kids features etc in C.Parks, as we used them extensively when our 3 boys were young. And likewise with our grand kids. However I can sort of understand where you are coming from here.
However today, being just the two of us we prefer to spend more quality time at bush camps than C.parks. It is not a matter of $$$ but rather a matter of greater freedom. We use >C.P. if and when we have to, and I guess that it is good to see the younger generation out and about rather than sitting in front of the TV or even worse playing with those computer hands held thingoos. They don't pay for my pension, I paid for it myself. And I'm still paying everyone elses, plus the dole, plus every other bl@@dy hand out that comes out of taxes.. Well I would be paying for it if I could get another job since I got layed off 10 months ago. And I don't qualify for the dole myself even.. Talk about feeling ripped off... But whether the kids want to swim or not is totally unrelated to any of that. If you stay in a park that has a pool in it, then you should expect that the kids want to use it anyway.
