Solution:  I worked it out - well kinda.  My computer date is "back the front" - like in America.  ggrrrr.

Yes - I just downloaded windows 10 - that's probably the reason.

Leslie, I use windows 7 on my LTop and today shows as 7th so if you are using windows 10 it will be the 10th. 8th must gave got lost and that's why 10 is available now. TRUE!
