Finally, it appears that the penny has dropped at least in Qld.

Using mobile phones whilst driving is dangerous and needs to be treated as such.

If your life is sooo busy that you simply must use your phone when driving, then I feel sorry for you and suggest you reorganise your priorities.

My bet is, almost all text messages sent by people whilst driving, could have easily been sent once the driver had safely pulled over.

The trouble is that too many drivers think they're so incredibly talented they can "multi-task". Yeah right.

I agree and hope that other jurisdictions will follow suit but its not just phones; the GPS, the UHF, the dash cam, etc all are possible distractions from driving and need to be managed properly and left to the navigator (if you have one that is) since "multi-tasking" has been proved to be a myth.

Could not agree more if you driving then you should only be driving not playing with any type of device if you have to attend to another device get off the road until you are finished with it.

Just common sense

So you are saying, if you don't have a passenger in the car you shouldn't use your UHF? I can understand it may be difficult if you have a pie in one hand and a can of coke in the other, but between meal times it shouldn't be a problem.
