Just completed the run from Wentworth to Bourke and we considered the road to be in pretty good condition for the entire trip. We were told that the section from Wilcannia to Tilpa was a little rough but we didn't have an issue with a 19 foot semi off road van.

We will be doing the Darling River Run in about 2 weeks, commencing at Bourke. Does anyone have any advice on: - any "must not miss" spots, - any "be careful of" things, - any "do not do" things. We have a 7.5m motorhome based on a 2014 Mercedes Sprinter chassis, solar panels, 200ltr fresh water and CB radio. We have not bush camped before but want to on this trip. We also want to have a go at Yabbying. We have planned a day in Bourke, 2 nights/3 days to get to Wilcannia, 1day from Wilcannia to Menindee, 2 night/3 days at Menindee, 1 day to Pooncarie, 1 day to Mungo, 2 night/1 day at Mungo, 1 day to Wentworth. We are 69 and 62, relatively fit but not athletes! Any advice, suggestions etc gratefully accepted.

Hi Dandm, Did that trip 12mths ago. Great info centre at Bourke, dump point , water and toilets. Great centre and people on hand. We free camped at Mays Bend a few K's out of town.We liked Bourke and spent a few days there. Went to Louth for 2 nighte then ro Idalia Station for 2 nights then on to Wilcannia, Great trip. Lovely old stone buildings in Wilcannia and no trouble. Have fun.

This is my first post as I have been keeping an eye on this forum for awhile. I have been down the Darling in the past and a stop at Louth is a must. If you go to the pub and ask to see the Louth Light you will be amazed. Please try not to miss it as it's one of the most amazing things I have seen.
