Best diesel heater for a 20'6 caravan

We have only recently purchased our new Retreat caravan, and would like to fit a diesel heater. Wondering firstly which type and brand is recommended for effectiveness and ease of installation. Husband is quite a handyman so hoping he can fit it. We live in SA so any advice re brands, costs, suppliers in SA appreciated.

Hi digah,
Only two on the market worthwhile considering: Eberspacher and Wabesto. Both good, I think Eberspacher has a sight advantage. If you google each one, distributors are pretty much everywhere.
Cheers,
Robyn

So far we are happy with the Planer from Pinnacle Wholesalers, $730, and fitted it myself.

I suggest a water heater rather than an air heater.
That way you get cheap hot water as well as space heating, which could be hot water radiators or 'under floor' or both.
It also means the heater is fired up more often which is best for diesel heaters.

Cheers,
Peter

Have a look at this site for good prices and very good delivery for eberspacher and webasto desel heaters. This is an English supplier and their prices are less than half those of most Australian suppliers including Dometic. http.//www.sales.butlertechnik.com

I bought a Belief from www.dieselheat.com.au which is a Tasmanian company. Very happy with their service and I fitted it to our Retreat.

You bought a BELIEF heater, so did I.
Very good after sales service from Greame. at www.dieselheat.com.au
Cost wise a hell of a lot cheaper.
Digah.
no doubt you will do your homework re this project, as we did, and the Belief can in as a No. 1 for us. It ticked all the boxes. We also purchases the Silencer accessory.

Digah, I have just finished installing a Planer diesel heater from Pinnacle Wholesalers. Go on Ebay and dial in caravan diesel heaters. Paid $820 for mine, and works a dream. I asked here on the forum, and some people had theirs for 2yrs with no problems, so that was good enough for me.

Some body posted on here the other day asking about service agents for Eberspacher theirs had a problem, so the top of the line expensive ones are not fool proof.
I am over the moon with mine, PM me if you wish.

Look in Techies corner, or type in diesel heaters at the head of this page under search.

Butler in the UK is a good source of diesel heaters and parts.

So is this place in Turkey dieselheaters4u.com/ He also has a UK based Ebay shop.
I met this bloke (Ali Aslander) when we were in Turkey in 2013. Knows his stuff and will post free to Australia.

Cheers,
Peter
