Replacement of Dometic toilet float

Has anyone replaced the toilet cassette float in a Dometic CTS3110 toilet.

I have to fit a new one and am not sure if the magnet in the float faces up or down.

any advice would be appreciated.

I think magnet would be up, as the float rises at the bottom the magnet makes contact at the top.

Cheers

Thats was my thought until I saw an image in the service manual which appeared to have the magnet facing downwards, because I have not seen one installed I only want to install once.

I think the design leaves a lot to be desired, mainly the pivot point attachment.

I have seen complaints on various forums (local and international) about the design as far back as 2009.

Well, according to Dometic, the magnet faces down.

See attached fitting instructions.

OK, I must say I'm surprised by that. The magnet contacts a switch outside, it doesn't make sense that it's on the bottom. Then again, it's dometic, mine is a thetford.

Oops next time I will read dometic not thetford  sorry

Cheers

Thanks for the reply.

Same here, I spoke to Dometic direct and they also sent a installation sheet which has the magnet downwards....they advised to install as per the instructions.

Which I will do !!!!!
