Like any lifestyle choice, there are always many things to put in place, organise, buy, install etc etc ... and even then there will need to be compromises.
Sometimes, one needs to fully assess all aspects of a lifestyle that one might want to pursue.
Sometimes, if there are just too many things that one needs to sort out, and the feelings in doing so are off-putting, one should perhaps re-assess that lifestyle choice.
I must admit I am quite biased as I have always known and wanted the 'full-time traveller' lifestyle. I have always been a wanderer of this wide, brown, exciting land from more than 50 years ago when I began with quick weekends and just a tent and hitchhiking to my destination/s.
I have graduated from, to and through almost every style of travelling/camping and now that I have been on the road for the past six years full-time, in my 23ft van, I have not a single regret. In fact, it is the opposite, the lifestyle is exactly what I enjoy.
It was with a little apprehension that I began with the 23ft van - I had not considered towing a van quite that large. However, I have found towing the van has not been a problem - perhaps only on those rare times I stay in a van park and their sites are a 'bit tight'. But as I say, those instances have been rare.
Given the concerns you raise in your last post Ian, perhaps, you should reconsider the lifestyle choice. If the preparation is becoming daunting, worrying and off-putting, perhaps the life is not for you.
It is a large outlay, financially and emotionally, and if you go into it, initially, feet and all, it may be costly to pull back to a 'sedimentary' lifestyle.
I can understand your concerns but if these things will get you (and your partner) to the outcome you (both) REALLY want, then they are small issues.
Cheers - and I hope your choices work out for you - John
