How hilarious is that - though they reckon there are barges carrying garbage going up and down the Hudson River in USA, because they have nowhere to put it!!!!
Obviously, we don't get a lot of Swedish backpackers out here, with all the "bumwiperum" backpackers leave around free camps!

Wish they'd look at doing something like that here. NSW Government is currently investigating trucking a lot of Sydney's garbage to the Riverina which could have environmental effects for farmers.

Lynda
Now don't you go giving the Gov't Blokes ideas Lynda,
The next thing you will hear is that they are organising a fact finding mission to Sweden,
which will probably take a couple of Months and at some astronomical cost to the tax payer.

I was listening to Margaret Throsby interviewing Bob Hawke on ABC Radio some months ago. He listed one of his greatest achievements as the preservation of Antarctica in its pristine condition, with a 50-year moratorium on mining. He travelled all over the world, lobbying governments, until he finally achieved his vision. Ten million penguins were overjoyed, even though Bob had never visited their corner of the world.
When asked for his vision for Australia, he said that this country was among the most geologically stable land masses on the planet, and therefore it would make an ideal burial ground for all the world's nuclear waste. He saw tremendous economic potential in the idea, but admitted that it would be a difficult sell.
So here we have a "visionary" who thinks that 10 million penguins are more important than 23 million Australians. What a moron.
