Lorne Foreshore Caravan Park

Hi All,

A simple question, has anybody, in recent times, stayed at this park? If so could you please pass on your thoughts? We have to attend a wedding in Lorne Vic. in October and this appears to be the only park in town. Any other suggestions welcome.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Hurls

Parks Victoria run facility. Part of several camp areas. In town close to Main Road. Good facilities but small campsites. Very close to everything. Chris

Just check that it's open in October. Some foreshore campgrounds close the weekend after Easter and reopen on December 1st (or thereabouts). Don't think this is the case for this park but it would be good to check availability in any case. It's very convenient. With a bit of luck you will be able to walk everywhere.

There is also turu.com.au/parks/vic/great-ocean-road/cumberland-river-holiday-park.aspx but walking home after a wedding is probably off the agenda.

We stay there regularly and book a site on the "Top Bank" section as this is the closest to the beach, approx 100m walk across the park. The other sections of the park would be a 400m walk. At that time of the year you should be able to take your pick of sites and yes they are smallish but we never find that an issue with our 21ft van (24ft draw bar included). Unless the park is heavily booked they let us find a site and we just let them know later the site number. Once there you can park the tug and forget it, everything is in easy walking distance and flat.

Rowan.
