If it's anything like the cholesterol lowering margarine, I wouldn't bother. A few years ago my cholesterol level was just border line, and had been for over 5 years.
Doc said I want you to use the cholesterol lowering margarine for the next month and come back, we will check it again.
At that time I used no margarine or butter and she knew that.
When I went back my levels had shot up and I've been on medication ever since.
Won't be trying the bread.

I used to use "Reduce" Long Life Milk but can't find in anymore. Maybe it reduced so much ya can't see it any more. I never reduced in size though but Cholesterol is always in the good range.

The ingredient is already supposed to be in oats and oat cereal Lynda so I suppose if you wanted to you could have them in the meantime, but whether it will do any good or not is debatable.

That's interesting about the margarine Marj and John, first time I've heard of that.

How about virgin olive oil on the bread instead I wonder if that would be better (if you can handle the taste) confuse

Your lucky with your cholesterol Doug, however mine was in the good range too but I still ended up with a quad bypass.

I went in for a quad bypass 5 years ago as well mate but while they had me open and playing around with the ticker found one more behind the ticker.

Just a side note.....I remember waking up and everything looked so white and bright I thought, bugga, I cashed the knife and fork in and was in heaven. I asked for my wife and she came in so thought, silly me, couldn't be heaven cos I would have gone dowwwwwn there.

Well glad you survived Doug, on me they also did a "maze" (scarring the heart to make "signals" stop short circuiting) and burnt off an appendage (skin flap that collects blood and causes blood clots) off the heart as well.

Did you have a high cholesterol level before the op ?    How are your levels now?

Total was and still is around the 2.5 mark Vic. I am currently seeing a GP here in Townsville about high blood pressure though and we are working on that.

Since my op I had to take a Cholesterol Tab but he can't see why it is as stong as it is. He is getting my records from down south and will probably reduce the strength. He and other Doc's have said when you have the Bypass op you have to take a Chol tab. I have known people to stop taking it though and all seems good.

I also take 1500mg Fish Oil capsule and a Kyolic Garlic Extract Capsule a day. They help with the blood etc. My blood is red so all must be good. Well it's red when it smells oxygen in the open air  biggrin

My Doc has just stopped my cholesterol tabs Doug as a couple of my liver readings from a recent blood test were sky high, the info on one of them on the net says high readings are usually associated with being a heavy alcohol drinker, but seeing I don't drink that lets that out.    I am having another blood test soon to see if the cholesterol tabs (Statins) are the cause, he also thought mine should have been reduced in strength as 80mg was too high....
