My wife and I have been going over caravan designs for our first caravan purchase and are wondering is there any advantage to having an angled kitchen? We like the Cafe' style seating arrangement, though do not understand why one would have an angled kitchen.
When I was looking and researching vans last year I never even saw a angled kitchen once but just the other day was in a friends van and they had one. Looked nice but also looked a little cramped. I have kitchen in the middle of the van one side and club lounge opposite, not squishy and enough bench space for me as I can also use table as bech too.
Somtimes if I I want to put my legs up and not lay on bed I can put my camp chair in between kitchen and table with feet on foot rest.
All works well for me.

We have an angled kitchen yes the court is out on is it a good thing or yes we would have it again.
1. In our 17 foot van it adds to bench space.
2. The extra storage under our sink entering from behind is a real winner, we store our electrical items in the top, in the bottom we store spare wine cask, pegs and laundry items next to the wheel arch.
3. Draws are a good size cutlery in top, plates next, kitchen utensils then bottom cook books, maps, writing paper.
Sometimes I think if only it was a straight kitchen it would be more open but then where would we put the electricals that we use when we are on power like the jug, toaster, large fry pan, drip coffee machine all get used and travel very nicely in there.
Down side I sometimes think it awkward to wash up, it a little thing but is it not caravaning full of awkwardness.
Wife said yes but she said would consider option, that still leaves me up creek without a paddle.
This is our first caravan after long time tent travellers had it about 4 years now really enjoyed the experience in our greying years, at the end of the year we may update to include a couple of extra luxury but it will be hard to replicate the relax feel of this van.
Our Traveller Van is similar re position of the sink/frig with more space ( Led light above) between the sink and the stove, but looking towards the rear of the van ( not the front as in the photo) with an East/West bed and shower/toilet/cupboard past the bed,

We have an angled kitchen in our home built caravan, love it, makes the kitchen seem more roomy, more bench space & separates the bedroom, would definately have it again but won't be building another van anytime soon

Wow ... That's a quality home build. Love it. Is it the Jayco or the Viscount (from your profile).
It is or was the Viscount, total rebuild, the only thing left of the Viscount is the chassis & the windows, we put Perspex in them & had them powder coated.
