Pardoo Station. WA.

I am currently spending a week at Pardoo Station in WA. It is situated around 140 k's North of Port Hedland. It has been a funny week. Frangipani and I said goodbye in amongst tears, sadness, and excitement at Port Hedland. This was always our plan, as Fran is heading North and I am heading South. It was a weird feeling on Sunday afternoon looking out of my window and not seeing Athena sitting there keeping Miss Daisy company.

Loved the free camp in Port Hedland, loved going to the races there and had a generally good time.

Monday seen me set tracks  a little way North to Pardoo Station. This is my regroup time and time to just chill out a little. What a wonderful little piece of paradise in the middle of nowhere. There is green grass everywhere, lovely staff, a large caravan park, around 150 places, and around 3.5 k's away is the beach. I have not been to the beach as one needs a 4WD, and while Seedling is just that, I am confident to do it on my own. Might have to chat to one of the old timers here and see if I can hitch a ride one morning when they head off fishing.

The swimming pool is beautiful and that may get a work out later in the week. The store is well stocked, and there is a restaurant if you require meals.

Be aware this is a working cattle station and is a stopover point for cattle being shipped to different places. So there is noise from the cattle, dogs and wildlife, and it at times gets a little smelly. Actually it is just like being on my son's Dairy Farm. A great spot. Would certainly recommend some time here. At present it is $35pn, power and water, stay a week and it is $30pn. The amenities are wonderful and plentiful, along with filtered drinking water if required, and dump points. I believe it is well priced for what is here and the location.

Thanks Vic. Yes I will be there in October for the get together. Taking my time going back down south. Then will explore the South West corner of the state.

Hope to catch up there Sharon, you may catch the Wildflowers if you are in the area east and south/east of Geraldton around August/September....
