Itching around my face and back

Hi all,

For the past few years my face/ forehead, and behind my ears itching is getting worst. The middle of my back is the same. seems to get worst by the end of the day, into the night. the only relif I get is to take a hot shower.

The hot water makes my skin itch even more at first on my chest and middle of my back.

I use a ( don't laugh ) hard brisil toilet brush kept in the shower,( better then any back scratcher)  to reach to middle of my back. I have tried all different soaps. I use Selson medicated shampoo on my crainium (head). Hot water stops the itching till the following day, then starts again.

Anyone experience same. I'm 59 years young. my Lambie has simular.

Jim

I know this might sound silly, but did Lambie start using a different Washing Powder back then ?  Sometimes this is a cause.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Gday...

With all due respect, Jim, and a genuine consideration of your condition, but do you think it is prudent to have the ailment (if it is an actual ailment) discussed on an open forum.

There very well may be a doctor as a member, but I doubt they would be at ease providing a diagnosis through the forum.

I do feel it would be in your best interest to consult a doctor - at minimum a pharmacist - who can actually examine and determine the seriousness of the matter.

Cheers - and I hope you find out the cause - Jonhn

Sounds like something changed about that time for both of you to have it.
I would put Paw Paw Cream on it. Lambie can do your back and visaversa.
Also take a Telfast, one a day for a while, until it goes away.

Hi all,

Have given it more thought. Could be tension, as we are both getting  older and working still. Our jobs are stressing us to the limit. 12months one week to go.

Regards Jim

Your right John, a visit to a GP is called for, particularly given this is a skin condition shared by two people (probably not a coincidence)

Never ceases to amaze me the personal detail some people are prepared to share on an open forum.confuse

Sounds like a reaction to something common to you both. Washing detergent could be one. I wondered If I have been getting a reaction from out leather recliner chairs, you haven't just brought new chairs, or have begun sitting in chairs you haven't sat in for long periods before. It'll be trial and error. If you go and see your GP they'll give you some antihistamine tablets.
I have had some pretty weird reactions, particularly from bee stings.
Nothing is wrong with your post, but do go and see your doctor.

Hello Jim, I understand your problem and I control mine with moisturizing cream and antihistamine tablets. However, there is a good chance that the problem is a chemical called Methylisothiozolinone used in dozens of products from sunblock, shampoos detergents soaps and even wet wipes. My daughter suffered badly because of nappy wipes her hands were blistered and cracked. Once she discovered the cause she is better but her skin is left rough and damaged. I discovered an article in a magazine called That's Life 10/9/15 you may like to read it. I am taking it to my GP who hasn't heard of the problem. I hope you can find a copy. I found it in a caravan park laundry!
