This is the 10th rescue this season. The problem is it is volunteers that are giving up their time to rescue these people. Most of the time it is people just failing to stay on walking tracks.

You're dead right there Neil, We went through the place a few months ago and were surprised where we saw people climbing,

They were everywhere were they shouldn't be, hundreds of metres up on sheer cliff faces, standing on rocks that looked like they could give way any time, " Flaming Idiot's"

I reckon these fools that get hurt because of their own stupidity, should be charged with the expense of their rescue, there's no excuse, the place is well sign posted and the path ways are well defined.

Some TV ads show people standing within a few inches of a drop of a few thousand feet with no guard rail ''enjoying the freedom''. A bad example to the younger generation in our opinion. One slip & they're history. Life is a gift not to be underestimated.
They also show people driving like maniacs in all sorts of inappropriate situations. Advertising executives have a lot to answer for.

Met a lady who fell 10m at karijini had to be recovered by ses and then air ambo to to perth, cost to them was about $75000 and not covered by insurance. Have heard of other people having to pay in excess of $100000 for recovery from some places

cheers
