Reversing camera system

Hi all, I am looking for some advice on wireless reversing cameras, I want to fit a camera to the rear of my caravan. I need a simple system with monitor plugs in to cigarette lighter socket, & camera connected to the reverse light of van. Any information or recommendations from reversing camera users will be very much appreciated.

Welcome to the gang Cruiser, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Not sure if your question has doubled up Cruiser but you asked a question about CV reversing cameras a couple of days ago confuse

I have a wired in camera on the back of my van and reckon they are great. I chose wired as I had been told by many people that the wireless one's have regular problems like no image or very poor image and some static interference in image.

I got good quality connector cable and fittings and get a very clear image all the time. It is live all the time when connected to the tug and I had the rear view mirror with vision from camera as that is where I look normally, love it. Sorry but can't help with brand as it was all fitted during the build but I am pretty sure it came from Safety Dave.

Cruiser1980., similar comments to you as Doug. I did quite a bit of research into this matter and made the decision to go hard wired and glad I did, no hassles at all with good vision and no interference. So may people who went wireless now are sorry they did any many converted to hard wired.

Agree with the other posts. I fitted a wireless rear view camera and converted it to wired soon after. The wireless ones are distracting and unreliable. Get a wired one. I now have two one that points to the tow ball and one that looks over the top of the Suzuki that I tow.

I can only comment that I installed a cheap wifi camera on the back of the van and ended up having to move the 'transmitter' to the drawbar (in a cheap weatherproof plastic box from Jaycar) in order to get a clear picture. It now works perfectly. I figured that it was a better option than running more cables across the hitch and through the car.
