Contaminated fuel is bad, years ago distilate used to wax up on cold mornings and block the fllters,
The only way to avoid it was stock up big before winter,
On my farm I had over 4000 gallons ,about 18000 litres of storage.

If you stock up before winter you have more chance of the distilate waxing up. There is different cloud point limits ( temperature at which the crystals start to form) according to the season and area it will be sold in.
For example Diesel sold now in Melbourne has a cloud point of 0deg Where as diesel sold now in the Western Vic has a cloud point of -2deg Alpine region -4deg. Big difference on a frosty morning.
Been in Operations at an oil Refinery for 26 years.
Anyway it's going to cost Caltex over this one
