Being an ex Romaite, I must say I am very disappointed that the town fathers do not cater for a low cost free camp area.
Many!! Many!!! freedom campers bypass Roma for the free camps to the East and West.
No doubt the C.Park owners have a say, but they are not the only losers. Many of the other retailers and traders in towns like
Roma, are letting 100's and 1000;s of dollars slip thru their hands because of this no free camp attitude.

We are thinking of visiting Roma for the 2016 Easter in the Country festival. I have requested the fees applicable for that time of the year from the Roma Gun Club. Will post same here.

We stayed there on Wednesday night Kevin the caretaker was great so we're all the others who were there, I can highly recommend it, actually if we didn't have to be somewhere else at a certain time, we would have stayed an extra couple of days.
Cheers

Why would one want to go to one of the overpriced caravan parks in the town.
Would rather support this club. And then the total traders in the town benefit. Well done to the Gun Club.
I was told that the park opposite the Big Rig, does not allow Caravan or camping. It appears that they have installed cabins. I guess for the mining boom, which is now over. So could be a lot of empty unit, just like we saw up in the Bowen Basin region.

Well here we are.. it is Thursday which is Good Friday eve.

But!!!! we are still at home base due to medical conditions.

We do hope to hit the road from Mother day through to Fathers day visiting out back Qld for some Reds and fishing.

Red means

A bottle of Red with some well garnished Red Claws.

Hope to see you around our camp fire.

OH!@!!!  yes we now have Roma on the bucket list for 2019.

Here is hoping./

Good morning all,
we are passing Roma next month and thought we might have a couple of days at Roma, stumbled across a post for Roma Gun Club, sounds good, I guess it will need to be booked if anyone knows ?

Many years ago in the UK i tried Clay Pigeon shooting, wondered if that is something i could try again at the park while having a few days ? if anyone knows the answer, just to see if i still can shoot a target. [Eys & reactions are a little slower now though]

Thanks for your time guys

Dave I would as it gets very busy during the tourist season

We rocked up one afternoon about 3 pm without booking and got the last site, although they are putting in additional sites.
