Without changing the fixed thermostat on either a Suburban or Truma Hot water System there is no way to alter the output water temps.

But on most vans these days there is a Hot Water Tempering Valve fitted of which most can be adjusted to between 40-55 degrees.

This is possibly the only way to change Temps without too much hassle. Also check the Residue screens in the Tempering valve if any problems

with water flow reduction or enough Hot water availability as they can clog up the filter screens.

Try this manual ... I has a description of the temperature control. There is a small plastic arc that can be changed from low , med, high, I think. Its on the face of the unit under the swing down door of the HWS.

Mine is a Living Edge Caravan, but I'm pretty sure that this is the Hot Water Tempering Valve, which is usually under the floor http://wanderingoap.blogspot.com.au/2015/05/hot-water-valve.html

Thanks all for your advice I will have a play underneath asap I am in Jindabyne at the moment and we are expecting snow tonight Might have to wait a while

Cupies has the right information for the Gas side as long as it is the same for the Australian version. But there doesn't appear to be any adjustment with regards to the 240 volt element side. Cheers Kev.

Spot on .... I keep forgetting about you more modern guys who have gas/electric models.

I have a surburban SW6DEA hws which is not giving HOT water.The temp is quite low and uncomfortable on both gas and electric.Does this indicate failed thermo?
