Does anyone know where I can get an electronic copy of the service / workshop manual for this generator? (Not the owner's manual - already have one).

An internet search gave me a couple of links to suspicious looking download web sites so I don't want to risk spending money on those.

There's one on eBay now. I searched Honda generator service manual. Worked for me.

Try Enquiry page on Honda's web page - they sent me what I needed when I had enquiry re my EU20i - that actually phoned me within 24 hrs - very helpful to their customers.
Also the Generator Place their dealer is helpful. freecall 1800 503 003

Not sure how deep you want to go, but YouTube has a lot of instructional videos on how to fix these  things.   I recently needed to dismantle and clean the carby on the mate's generator.   YouTube stepped me through the whole overhaul process.
