That's because every day is their best day of television... or playing cops and robbers... or catching tadpoles... or making mud pies... or playing dress up... smile

Not anymore - it's a little oblong piece of plastic with a screen and from the age of 3 they are hooked totally on it. We insist on no iphone when the grandkids visit but you must have alternatives available.

yep - the age of innocence has gone - simple things have been replaced with ipads, x-boxes etc. Really sad.......

Every generation laments the loss of what they enjoyed as children ............ who knows what the next 50 years will bring?

Let kids be kids and enjoy whatever they enjoy doing with their time regardless of what grandpa or grandma may think ......... I know I did when I was a kid. :)

My grandsons were brought up in a small country town, they still live there - the younger ones, twins, are now nearly 16, and their growing up has been fantastic, they could walk around town, everyone knew them, if they did anything naughty, mum soon found out. Best thing in the world for them, in my opinion, they have turned into independent young men, caring about animals, people and other children, as well as the environment. They will follow their older brother and leave home for work I suppose, but their base is strong. They have all the gizmos kids have these days, but they love fishing, canoeing and camping out. The two other brothers are also independent and terrific young men.

I am glad they have had the best of both worlds - the outdoor freedom, as well as the technology that is abundant these days. If you spend quality time with them when they are young, it will stand them in good stead for the rest of their lives.

Hi guys, hope you are all well. My 4 grandkids love their TV. I tend to think they need to get outside and play in the mud.

I guess we all have too much telly, but some of the crap I see on the programme guide makes me sick. Thank goodness for DVDs and books.

Cheers
