G'day. Earlier I commented on a post about fishing at the Daly River (NT). I have noticed that the subject has already moved on a page. As I stated there this was not a criticism but advice. New rules re catch and bag limits came into effect early this month and I strongly advise anyone wishing to fish up here be up to date with them. It is a long way home if you loose everything involved in taking fish if you are proved to be not legal. Please take this as only advice only. What you do is up to you.
Cheers

Not just recently either. 2012 saw us in Kakadu - Roper Bar - Borroloola etc. and folks were really learning fast to be in tune with the regs as Fisheries had nabbed a couple for having skun fillets of Barra in their possession at Roper Bar campground near the causeway and they had to travel to Borroloola for court the next day to explain them selves. Again I am not being critical - just saying to obey the rules. As already said - it is a long way home should gear used in catching fish gets confiscated. Cheers

I slowly realise as I get older that I am definitely NOT the fastest rat in the race.
Also the older I get the more I realise I do not know.
At the time it was illegal to even skin fillets until cooked - apparently the fisheries could gauge the size of the fish by the scale patterns on the skin.
The printed regs were quite clear re not skinning the fillets as well.
