$50,000 for a 3 year old's birthday party sounds reasonable.
All these years that I thought we did a good job with the kids birthday parties, it turns out I was a cheap skate. No wonder they had to turn to lots of friends to enjoy life.
these two are obviously ferals who have obtained a large amount of cash (if legally - then maybe as a FIFO worker) and theyre out to impress their friends by this sort of garbage. Im sure the 3 yr old enjoyed what was on the menu.
Whats happened to sausage rolls, cakes, lollies and a birthday cake with soft drinks (healthy stuff) that we and our kids and no doubt many others still serve up for a kids birthday today?
I wonder how many people who they invited as friends will remain their friends. Imagine going to their daughter $50K 3rd birthday party and then inviting these two to your daughters party and the main course is sausage rolls????
Total d****heads !!

I especially remember being able to have ice cream for my birthday. It was a real treat back then...homemade of course...but all us kids from the neighbouring properties for 20 miles around all came and loved it.
There was always plenty of milk and cream to make ice cream ....but refridgeration was a luxury and expensive (kerosene fridges).

bread and dripping with hundreds and thousands wasn't too bad either. I always thought it was a treat back then but I now realise it was actually a necessity.
Really it's no different to owning a $250,000 gin palace motorhome with running everything. If you've got it flaunt it. You cuts your cloth according to your fabric.

It's my grandson's 5th today. My daughter is holding it at my house. There are 9 kids coming for 2 hours plus some of the parents may stay. There is food & drinks to cater for dozens. Plus every kid has to take home a "show bag". There is also the tray of cup-cakes for all the Kindergarten kids plus the staff. And she's complaining how expensive it is to run this party. It's all self inflicted. Odd thing is we never did that sort of thing for her or her brother. Even though we have all sorts of stuff left from last year (including lemonade), appears having the same colour scheme for the paper plates etc. two years in a row is not the done thing.
As noted by others, what happened to a few home-made sausage rolls, a cup of cordial & some fairy bread. And maybe a small bag of lollies to take home?
