Rangehood over gas stove

A friend is building a caravan in VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA.  He wants to know where to find the tech-specis for the required clearance above the gas stove.

Suggest he goes to a caravan yard with his tape measure

Rangehood in my converted Hino is 530mm above the stove, was done by conversion company which seemed to be conversant with gas regs (for Queensland at least) when we were discussing positioning of a gas bayonette fitting to comply with the then-upcoming new regs (think they came into force last July).

AS5601 says quite clearly 600mm clearance from the top of the trivet.

AS5601 Part 2, 6.9.1
Where the required clearance to a range hood cannot be met, a range hood constructed of non-combustable materials may be installed at not less than 450mm, provided the manufacturer states the range hood is suitable at the installed clearance and the gas appliance is certified as a caravan/marine cooker.

The above is quoted verbatim from the Standard...............there is no discussion necessary. It either complies or it doesn't.
