Not again! Seems everywhere I go lately I am followed by bad storms that catch up to me. Now the weather people are keeping an eye on a low out at sea off Townsville that could turn into a cyclone in the next 48 hours. What have I done to deserve all this rough weather
Still, might not happen, no one is rushing around here in Townsville, YET.

Dougwe, check the weather maps, no lows of coast.

Probably why no one is rushing around in panic mode Phillip and Jon.
It was reported on the news weather twice yesterday here in Townsville that it is possible and the weather people were keeping an eye on it. Seems late now for a cyclone but with the way bad storms have been following me lately you just never know. I think it is over near the Cook Islands so probably no threat to the OZ coast.

There's a large low a few hundred K's east of the SE tip of PNG. It's down to 1005 hpa and dropping, and moving south, that's what's generating the wind. You need to look at a wider pacific sat map, you won't see it on the local one. I'd be surprised if it develops into a cyclone this late in the year... but weather patterns have been breaking records across the planet of late. There's a huge high moving over the bite and heading your way Doug, hopefully that will blow the low away and you'll be in for some cracking weather

Weather warning.
Their is a tropical low moving up the Qld coast , causing some disturbance to the region. BOM have named it Doug. Consists of a lot of hot air, expected to blow out in a day or two.
