hi everyone, can someone please tell me is there a list or book out that has all the showgrounds that have camping allowed across each state and what facilities and costs are, not a fan of van parks.
I use Wikicamps and Camps 7. I mainly use Wiki for show grounds as it gives some great comments and pics. There are some great show grounds around and I tell you that for free. Only last night I stayed at the Gin Gin show grounds (inland from Bundaberg QLD) See what happens when I get to Home Hill (South of Townsville) tomorrow arvo. If the free camp at the back of the shops is full, show grounds it will be again in readiness for a mid morning arrival in Townsville Wednesday.

Steve. If you haven't got wikicamps - private message me and I will tell you how to download the App (costs you less than $8 a year) and the huge benefits you get from it. We're like Doug and many others who primarily use wiki for free camping or showgrounds and the like

franstev there is a site called caravancaravan.com.au This site will allow you select a general location & gives option of showgrounds within a 200 klm radius from your selected location
If you go into Wiki camps filters and go to state filters, tap the state you are in, make certain no others are highlighted, tap back to listings. In the search box type in showground tap search button and it will show all showgrounds in the state, you can conteol it more by inserting where you are and it will show the showgrounds close to you, you can put in dog friendly, free or paid, it will show yoj all you need. Saves searching though a huge list.
