Home dried fruit and vege into WA

The WA quarantine website states that home dried fruit and vegetables will be allowed in if inspectors are satisfied they are sufficiently dried and free of pests. Wondering what people's experience is?

they are very tough. If you are not already in transit there, you should phone them (see their website). They will want to know where from, what they are, who and how processed. Unless you are that keen, don't bother. Can you freeze it after drying it? Then you will be fine

guidelines actually say commercially dried and packaged, it gives them an out and they tend to err on the side of caution. Which is what they should do as they are protecting a huge part of the countries primary industry.

They are really tough there and rightly so.  I would not even risk it as I hate waste, so I cooked a big quiche, using whatever I had in the fridge and stewed a couple of apples before crossing over and all was fine.  When you get settled again go shopping!

Good luck and enjoy your travels.
