Hi Newbie,
I was there in 2010, it well worth the 30 km drive in at that time there road in was better than the Savannah Way, friendly people, reasonable priced, rough but clean amnesties, beautiful warm pools, lots of tracks to explore.

Welcome to the gang Gary, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Sorry Gary I am unaware of the area so will leave it up to those that may know. I just wanted to welcome you.

We spent 2 weeks there in 2007 while we waited for the road to open further north.

We spent the time getting the place ready for tourists, and doing some odd jobs, just for fun.

Check out the bar stools I built and the new paving we did...........

There is good fishing on the coast if you can get there.

Cheers,

Peter

 EDIT...

They have a good web site.....

I have stayed at Lorella a couple of times, and can recommend it. If you are adventurous, the fishing is great !. Rett, the owner pushes a new track to an un fished creek on the gulf every year, and while the tracks can be " challenging", the fishing is amazing!I filled my 60ltr waeco the first day with barra fillets, and had to worry about where to put the crabs, and the beer. The thermal pool in middle of the camping area is better than Matteranka, with less people. If in the area, Go. 100000 acres of mostly unexplored wilderness. Go now. Bill
