Motorhome - which brands or models do you recommend?

I am considering purchasing a motorhome (new or used) that:
* is built to a high standard
* can easily/safely flat tow a small car
* has good storage space
* has seating for and will comfortably sleep at least 4 people
* isn't too large, eg one that will fit on most caravan sites
* and that I can reverse down my driveway from a street without a lot of turning space.

I would love to hear your recommendations.

We have a Talvor 6 berth (Overkill is better after revamp to 4) The body is on a Merc cab & chassis. We crossed the Great central Rd West to East, no problems, the body is built like a brick dunny, plenty of storage lockers, excellent toilet & shower, good quality pump & fittings. We needed to upsize the fridge.
Would recommend to anyone.

 Regardless of the Make/Model I would check the Tare against the GVM, To me a 600Kg Payload is a minimum.

Paradise or Sunliner for me. Checked out all of the rest, most underweight rubbish.

Thanks for your prompt replies. Based on your suggestions, we have looked online at Talvor, Paradise and Sunliner motorhomes, along with Winebago (though the Sunliner website was playing up). Lots of thinking and research to do.

Hi Guys

We brought a Winnebago because I was after a certain design and this footed the bill. What we have noticed is some of the new ones are severally lacking in outside storage and they also seemed to have placed limits on the amount of water and the size of gas bottles. Some now come with 2 x 4kg or 1 x 9kg & 1 x 4kg, if I was looking at buying new I would select a Sunliner but I would give them a reasonable brief as to what I wanted in relation to outside storage, gas bottles. water etc

You are going to have both a hoot and frustration researching this so grab a glass of red and enjoy

We have a Jayco Conquest on Mercedes Diesel 3litre v6 engine. Tows over 2 tonne. It is the 2011 model 24 ft. Seats and sleeps 4. Plus by dropping the dining table you can separate the kids if needed. The luton bed is huge. Rear permanent double bed. The unit is robust, drives like a dream and does everything that we need. Jayco are really good at their after sales warranty and repairs. Like all models and companies, there are initial difficulties but overall we are extremely happy with it. Gas bottles are a 9 and a 4.5 litre. We carry a spare 4.5 litre. Storage space inside is ok but by adding middle shelves in cupboards you double space. Now we have empty spaces. Outside boot space is adequate. Cheers
Phil
