We have just signed up for a new van and I would like to be ready, so does anybody out there know what pin positions are used for the AES fridge and ESC sway Control.

thanks in advance Rod.

Ask the maker/dealer of the van you are buying for wiring details.

I haven't got ESC but I believe it is usually wired via an anderson plug.

Here is the 'standard' pin usage..

www.narva.com.au/products/browse/wiring-diagrams

Fridge should be on 9 or 12 and ESC possible the same. Guess that doesn't help you!!

I would suggest getting the fridge wired up with a separate supply from your battery/alternator, using minimum   6 sq. mm wire. Preferably 20 sq. mm is the way to go.

To ensure you don't drain your tug battery by parking for a period of time with the fridge running off the battery - ensure you install a 12V 140Amp VSR - Dual Battery Isolator - Voltage Sensitive Relay. This cuts the power when the alternator stops generating power and battery drops to around 12.8v..

There is no standard for wiring AES fridges through a 12 pin plug/socket.  The standards only go as far as the navigation lights on pins 1 - 7, Pin 8 for battery feed, pin 9 for the fridge 12 V element and pin 10 heavy duty earth. Where only 7 pin plugs are used, pin 2 is thieved for the fridge hot wire, however under the standards it is allocated for the reversing signal (or reverse lights.) If you go to an auto electrician with your tug and just ask him to wire the socket up they will often wire pin 2 to the reverse lights.

Which ESC are you getting. Al-Ko fitters will generally require a red Anderson socket on your tug. My Dexter ESC was wired to the house battery.
