Adventure before Dementia

Hi all,

I've locked myself out of the fourm's for the past two weeks. couldn't remember my past word, let alone how I set up my user name. Thank's to Cindy at Admin I'm up and running again. Very fusstraighting.no

We are so excited wanting to let every one know that we have put a deposit down on a new snail to take us were we ever want to go in this great land of ours, in our upcoming retirement.

We have opted for a Jayco journey Outback poptop  17.55 with a loo/shower for the wife.Happy wife happy life eh! Delivery is in December so we can prepair and sell our Kimberly Camper, that has many extra's and is in good condition. We are based in the Nth West of Sydney if you or someone you know is looking for a top camper.

We brought late on the last day3.30pm at the Sydney supper show. They said to us that they needed to beat their Melbourne counter parts for the very first time and would accomadate us.

Well by the time I had added together my freebie wish list, it took only an extra 10 minutes for them to say yes.

On top of the show special price we got a 300mm frame extension, ESC sableiser control, the brake controller supplied and fitted to the tow truck, Extra spare wheel / tyre fitted in between the A frame.

I don't think I'm losing it just yet.Hope not anyway.smile

Regards Hey Jim & Lambie

Hi Bruce & Bev,

Yes its our choice, We are both still working another 12months, if we can last that long.  Lambie has just gone through a big operation seven weeks back and just returned to school . this week.(not as A student). they gave us that choice which suits us as it gives us time to detail the camper and for me to make room in my man cave to park it.

Regards Hey Jim & Lambie

typical teacher - well organized and got everything planned Jim LOL. You just stick to your man cave and sort of the sale of your current van and let Lambie do the rest (hope shes fully and permanently mended).

Let hear lots more from you both as things go................

Been planning my getaway for about 2.5 years, now on the home straight with the finishing line - when I reach the magic age - almost in sight. Been hard not to anticipate going into the playground while planning, getting an empty bus, having it fitted out and learning as much as I can before hitting the road full-time. Have a couple of short trips planned in the meantime, which will only whet my appetite even more. Good luck with your new rig, and don't be afraid to ask for information on this Forum, there's lots of friendly and knowledgeable people here.

Cheers
Joe

Hi Jim Do you mind me asking how much the Jayco was? Our friends have a 2014 model. It is a very nice looking van. Inside feels very open and airy.

Thanks Jim. Yes they are a good feel when you walk in. I would be interested to see how they go as they are reasonably new on the market. Since I asked we have actually bought a second hand Goldstream and pick it up today. All excited. We have had our beautiful Jayco sterling for nearly 4 yrs and love her but I am at the age I really wanted to do a bit of gentle off roading and free sights and with a shower/toilet (not the external shower that we had) The Goldstream doesn't have the "feel" that our girl or the new Journey has but she has everything else. Look forward to hearing or seeing you in the future.

Kim
