Sydney to Alice and Return.

Just wondering if any of you experienced travellers could give me any ideas or suggestions of the most interesting route from Sydney to the Alice and return.   Towing a 20ft van which is not a off-roader so will be stuck to the tar - not literally I hope.   Thanks guys.   Pommyroy

Do a Lap. Up through western Qld across then down to Alice, home via Pt Augusta and Broken Hill
