We urgently need to sell our 2014 Concept Ascot SX 22' van. We have tried several caravan selling sites but to no avail. Some dealers have told us it will be hard to sell because of the high price bracket ($75K). Would be grateful for any suggestions.
Good start putting here but may I suggest you contact Cindy "Webmaster" and get her to put it in the classified section of "The Grey Nomads" Website. I think I read somewhere that it is free but could be wrong.

This time of he year not too many buyers. Better luck approaching warmer months. Larry
I would say, that would depend on where you live, here in the West, the local Nomads are just coming out of their Summer hibernation and soon they will be talking about heading North to the Kimberley's for the Winter,
Their next step will be to look for a good caravan, so if the seller lives on the West Coast, now is the perfect time to advertise,
Give "GUMTREE " a go, it's free to advertise and I have found it pretty good to sell stuff in,
Best of luck with the sale, deconuts.

From Coast to Coast, We'll see it all.......One Day
I'd advertise it on every internet site that has "caravans for sale" - Gumtree, Ebay, Trading Post, Caravancampingsales, whatever. Some cost about $50 to list but that's peanuts compared to what you would lose selling it at auction where it may get 2/3 of it's value. Also have a sign on it stating "FOR SALE" and a price which must be attractive and have transfer papers /RWC etc on hand. If you have to sell in a hurry you are at a big disadvantage....no way around that unfortunately.
If you MUST sell in a short time frame you must sell it at the absolute lowest price you will accept (remembering it MUST be sold). On a $75000 van I'd figure $40,000 would be that price.
Plenty of sharks out there willing to sell at a low price on commission too so watch out for them.
I hope it all comes out good.

Hi,
Sorry to hear that you have to sell your van ! Perhaps that's life. It will be difficult to do at that price but for every item there is a buyer in my experience, so you have to go and find them, or get the van into their line of sight somehow. That's called advertising. Note you only need one real buyer in the end
I recently sold a mid priced motorhome. I advertised it on some free sites including Gumtree, and also paid for adds on several too. On top of that we displayed it near the gates at a Caravan and Camping show and a local show and also on several main roads around where we live. A bloody lot of work actually. Some offers but not to our liking. It was sold to a couple who saw it parked on the road near our daughters place. They liked the look of it driving past, test drove it and bought it for a very good price. So much for the advertising ??
My suggestions are, firstly get it ready and sparkling and all working 110%, secondly give the buyers plenty of information. A two paragraph add is not sufficient for an expensive van. Plenty of good pictures that flatter it too. Not crap shots. Thirdly put the signs and information in the windows and put it out there for the world to see. Open the curtains also so they can see how good it is. Have to tow it around a bit and that's work. fourthly look at the sites that have similar vans for sale and choose the ones that appeal to your eye for presentation.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We have tried caravancampingsales site, Gumtree, CaravanCamping Buy, Sell, Swap but to no avail. Have it parked out on the front lawn with a sign but where we live there is not much through traffic only locals. Too risky parking it out on the main road as opportunistic thieves everywhere. We have given it some serious thought lately and have decided to reduce it by $10K but cant afford to take less. Will repost now on sites mentioned and see what happens. Also Thought we would try the dealer if he'd be interested but not too keen either. In the meantime we just keep praying. Once again, thanks.
