How do I down size a video to post

how do I down size a vidio on an iPad so I can post it here on the GN site. do I need a particular program to do it in ?

there is a free programme you can download called "Razor" and I and many others on this site use it, but I have never used it for video and not sure if it does them.

If someone else doesn't give you some free sites, try goggling some sentences that will give you options. If you find one though - check customer reviews before you download to make sure they work ok and aren't spam or virus infected

Hi Woody n sue

                            Bring up your video in your pictures on your iPad,you will see up the top of the screen a row of small pictures just tap on the pictures and that will shorten the video, start on the right hand side,if you tap on moments up the top on the left it should come up, hope this helps,there is no need to down load anything your iPad is set up for it,PS try a third of the length of the screen to shorten the video ,keep trying until it will except the length you need.

I'm not an Apple user so I can't confirm this but I've been told that iMovie (or something similar) will compress videos to reduce their overall file size without influencing the length of the video. I have been given Apple videos (Quicktime - .mov) and they're pretty large. Simply converting them to MP4 substantially reduces their size without affecting the quality and MP4s will play across a wider range of video players than just Quicktime. Another alternative is to download and install something like Handbrake (handbrake.fr/) that will convert and compress at the same time - it's open source and therefore free and was originally developed for the Apple platform but which has been extended to include windows. Its also pretty easy to use.

Well I have down loaded a program to sharing the size of a video but I still can't post it here on the GN site using the same procedure that I have for a still picture am I doing some thing wrong or can videos not be uploaded here?

Try running it through google chrome, this iPad Air won't allow me to post a photo so I go through chrome and it works.

I use a free program called EzVid it allows me to Edit video clips and rezize them. Works for me.

Freemake Video Converter is a great program , does everything , music ,video , youtube , mp3 , mp4 , copy and convert anything to any format , and its FREE.
