When we are at Bundy we stay at a great place called Iron Ridge Bush Park. It's midway between Childers and Bundy and a 25 minute drive to Woodgate Beach. $24 a night for power and water, only 11 sites all private and drive thru! Check it out on Wikicamps.

In Bundy I stay at Elliott Heads. Reasonable price and beautiful location. End of the road so no passing traffic - very quiet. Beach is very close. About 20km south of Bundy.
No shops to speak just a couple of small kiosks for fish and chips, milk etc but the bowls club does a great Sunday roast lunch.

John, there is generally no need to book ahead too far (except for special events.) For piece of mind just phone ahead 3 or 4 days before arrival, that should be sufficient. The longest I have had to wait for Gracemere was 3 days and that was only once. I did book well ahead for the nights before the NACC national rally knowing the number of vans that would be milling around and then found there were plenty of vacant spaces.
