Yep! I'm with you Phantom.

Your quote "Perhaps a better description would be "designed to sell newspapers or increase viewers to doubtful current affairs TV shows" is pretty well on the money, add to this the fact that a lot of today's so called journalism is thinly disguised advertising or simply a venue for vested interests to promote a cause, i.e. Aussie primary producers.

The thread has certainly turned a bit loopy.

As I commented earlier, when it comes to this sort of thing it doesn't take much to whip up a bit of hysteria.

When people start demanding evidence in a social discussion on a public forum my eyes glaze over.wink
