Leaking Colorado roll out awning.

Standard vinyl awning as fitted to Jayco etc, over New Year we stayed at the town of 1770, and it teemed with rain, the awning leaked like the proverbial, everything under it got soaked, I could not determine where it was coming in, it seemed OK where it attaches to the roof of the pop top. Underneath was like standing in the shower.

Wondering if anyone knows, does the vinyl eventually throw in the towel and deteriorate to such an extent that it can no longer repel water, if so can it be treated?

How old is the awning? Did you wax the seams? could the water of leaked in at the bottom edges. If it was raining hard and the weather hot and steamy maybe just condensation.
I know down in Newcastle the condensation on the roof was bad with the recent heavy rain.

My 10 YO vinyl awning still OK, doesn't leak.

I did have trouble with it leaking

- through the sewn seams along the top where it attaches to the walls.  Just used bees wax to fix.

- where the roof attaches to the walls at the van end.  Just a manufacture/design issue.  Fixed by jamming a scrunched up plastic bag in the 'gap' or if I think of it before it rains, I use a bit of tape to close the gap.
