While searching for a subject for a posting on the same subject is a good idea, if the subject was posted some time ago it can be buried on the forum and if you view the forum without signing on or don't have your Settings adjusted to bring up new posts first in User Details you won't see it.
As an example, I just made a post on this 2013 subject below, but unless you sign on or have your settings adjusted for new posts you wouldn't see it, for example purposes see this link;
You will see this thread here (Why It Is a Good Idea To Adjust Your Settings) as it is a new thread, but if you don't sign on or have your settings adjusted you will not see the thread Ningaloo (or Nigaloo as it is spelt wrong in the original thread) as it was posted too long ago, that is despite any new posts. I hope this makes sense and if of some value to new members.

I will add the initial part:
On the top right hand side of this and most pages you will see your username, having signed in of course.
Click on your username. Now look on the left hand side.
You will see lists of names, settings being the bottom one of the first list. Look through all these to get an idea of what they do. Have a play around with them all.
This is an unusual Forum in that respect, Im on several other Forums & if some one posts on an old thread it comes to the top automaticly for all to see. Quite often other people then have something fresh to read & add. If there is a spelling mistake in the title it makes it even harder for a search.
"Order of topics:As a default, topics on our forum are displayed by the date/time they were created rather than the date they were modified or added to. This means that if someone places a new post on a thread that was initially started several weeks ago, you may not notice it if you use the forums default settings.If youd like to change the order that posts are displayed on your computer, you can do that on your profile section.Just click on your own name once youve logged in.The top left-hand side of the page is labelled the Profile section, and you will see a link entitled settings.Once you have clicked on the settings link, you can see several options available on the order of topics.To change it, just select the option you want and ensure you click Save changes at the bottom of that page to store your preferences."

No one here is bothered about adding to an existing topic. They are all happy to start a new about thread about a subject that is already discussed. Eg: WDH.

If the settings are adjusted right DeBe, an old topic will come right up to the top as soon as a new post has been added.
The settings are set at Default until you adjust them yourself.
Someone asked in an earlier thread, about not being able to find her own threads she had started, not sure who it was. Just below the first set of headings is another set. One says where you have posted and one says threads you have started.
Thanks for that Happy wanderer, will try that. Some old posts do get questions asked especialy ones posted about repairs to Waeco fridges. Luckily I set them to send an email if activated. Yes they may be acouple of years old, but I have helped a few people to repair there own fridge. Some have got here by googling Waeco faults & found the answers here, as Google directed them to the threads.
