There is paid camping at Mungo NP, Pooncarie & me stayed in the tiny van park at Menindee in 2010. North from there the only official camp is at Louth . There were signs where road diverted off to properties saying do not trespass so no where to camp by the Darling except the weir at Louth. Just check with police in case there has been rain through there as roads could become impassable.

Greg & Di,

Both roads are good when dry, any hint of rain look elsewhere. Many of the stations offer paid camping and are usually a pretty good alternative and worth spending a few days and dollars. Whilst there is not a lot of obvious free camping You will always find a good overnight camp.

I picked up a really good guide to the Darling Run at the  Mildura Info centre a couple of years ago. Use that track a fair bit & always allow an extra day or two for a look around.

Mike.

Greg, have you had a look at the Darling River Run web site? There is a lot of good info on that site. As for your direction, you are going against the river flow so you are going up.
