Cupie, you must be a youngan if you've got fifteen years to wait to ask that question.

I think there's a lot of people parked up on a wet easter weekend & bored, that's certainty my case. I parked up at my daughters for easter & school holidays. I was going to give the car & van a good clean out, but been able to do nothing. I just bought a bottle of royal reserve dry, to try a change from port, never again, I'll stick to port.

Cheers Pete

Not to me it doesn't. The only thing I can add is in respect to correct punctuation. When on the phone you can erite a post with a thousand paragraphs but for some reason it posts all as one.

Just like that, had it all set out with paragraphs. Also I can't edit a post on the phone for some reason.

In the days when I was a drinker I loved my Port sipper.  One of those delicate small glass bowls with a glass sipping straw attached at the bottom.  Great to sit there slowly sipping through a tiny amount of Port.  But the straw broke & I reverted to wine glasses.  A bottle doesn't last too long when not using a sipper.

Nothing like a glass of port sitting round the campfire late at night.  The memories linger.

The above must of either been out dated when I was in school & not taught or maybe not taught in the lower grades which is where I spent a fair bit of time.

Now hasn't this been fun? 3 pages of mostly mish mosh and yet survived the scrutiny of the padlock. It really goes to show how many sit on the side and how senseless humour can make our day.

Hope we all had a safe and sensible Easter, bugga it lets not be sensible life's way too short for that confuse

Cheers

Because Indiscriminate Numbers Are Relative Yawl, so you might need a translator.  Now that's giving it away, if not, try Google.

Did I get me punchuasian wright this time?

Ah! Definately early onset ....   Yes, I meant Binary & not Boolean that we learnt as an adjunct when exploring electronic logic.  But then I was studying GR12 Logic as part of Adult Matriculation at the same time so things get a bit mixed up over the years.   Must have known all about it at the time as I got top marks, a 7.  Only a 4 for English though .. does it show?

All the talk of and gates & or gates not to mention nand & nor really takes me back to great days.  Then there were all the falacious statements/arguments.  Used to love that stuff.

.....................................................................................

I took the advice & reverted to Mr Google.  Who needs a memory when you've got Mr.Google?

From Mr Google ......

The most obvious way to simplify Boolean expressions is to manipulate them in the same way as normal algebraic expressions are manipulated. With regards to logic relations in digital forms, a set of rules for symbolic manipulation is needed in order to solve for the unknowns.
A set of rules formulated by the English mathematician George Boole describe certain propositions whose outcome would be either true or false. With regard to digital logic, these rules are used to describe circuits whose state can be either, 1 (true) or 0 (false). In order to fully understand this, the relation between the AND gateOR gate and NOT gate operations should be appreciated. A number of rules can be derived from these relations as Table 1 demonstrates.

  • P1: X = 0 or X = 1
  • P2: 0 . 0 = 0
  • P3: 1 + 1 = 1
  • P4: 0 + 0 = 0
  • P5: 1 . 1 = 1
  • P6: 1 . 0 = 0 . 1 = 0
  • P7: 1 + 0 = 0 + 1 = 1

You lost me at GR12 logic actually you lost me at logic. I only went to Yr10 but I've been learning practical stuff ever since. English wasn't my strong point either, but I'm trying (I know, very trying!).

Where's Phil C? Do you think we should get on to him to order some popcorn now?  But get the caramel one, the salted type makes me thirsty.

Gone from popcorn to beer now. Haven't seen Boolean or binary for donkeys ages. And or nor not nand inverter. Yipes

yeah lets go for 6 pages, why not. This thread started with crazy, went to Boolean maths and binary, what's next?

Well since we've gone from popcorn to beer, I suppose the logical (did I really say logical... oh well) thing to discuss is what type and what brand or label of beer, I'm not a beer drinker though so will have to leave that up to you guzzler's.
