Cyclone Pam

Just out of curiousity, based on the devastation this cyclone instilled on Vanuatu got me thinking and thought I would ask the forumites their thoughts:

Given that the people that live in Vanuatu (and associated islands) do not have much, out of all the places in the pacific, cyclone Pam had to unleash it's fury on these islands. Why was this so? Is it the gods were angry at these people? was it just luck or lack of? Was it climate change? These people did not have much and now they have even less.

Your comments please.

Larry
