Hi Everyone, We are at present on uneven ground with the door side of the caravan higher than the other side. Therefore, the door if higher off the ground and we need 2 steps. We have a 1 step that is no enough. any suggestions? thanks.

Got a Tool Box or a strong plastic crate/box that you could use upside down as a temp measure???

Don't whatever you do get one of those Fiamma plastic "ankle breakers" type steps, they quickly die due probably to UV and become brittle.

Better alternative is one of those alloy type with fold out legs on each corner, very stable and strong but light too.

Hardware stores (Bunnings etc) have light plastic folding stools that appear to be very stable and fold down flat for storage/transport.

This happened to us as well. Hubby had two solid flat bits of wood, I think he'd used them as levellers under the van at times, anyway he sat those under our step but put big screws in the wood around the step legs so that the step didn't move when we stood on it. Hope you got what I mean?

Cheers Dianne

Keep watch for the Aldi double step. $30.00. Most of my friends have them as well.

I'm a milk crate person.  Always carry two or three.  Keeps things from bouncing about & great for steps, footrests, stove stands, shoe boxes et. al.

This is what to look for :

We have one, but we don't use it in the Aliner - my wife has a very extensive library of over 10,000 books (collected over 45 years) in 18 bookcases 6ft high with other books placed on top - we use the caravan steps as mobile 'library' steps to get to the top of the bookcases. Also found them handy to do a few little DIY jobs around the house where a larger step ladder gets in the road !

 Hi Rocketeers,

We had that problem sometimes and got sick of it. Also the step normally was bigger than the higher ones in the MH. So I removed the single step and replaced it with a double step. Perrrrrfect. biggrin All the steps are very similar if well parked.

A bit of mucking around and some work but much better. Bought it from a caravan place. The step looks similar to yours but has another bottom step which folds up onto the top step before you put it in. To put out you lift and pull out, then unfold the bottom one.  wink

This is the one we use. It's similar to the Aldi one but it's always available, not just when Aldi decide to supply them.

There are various others at this page. They are available at any Camec stockist.

Yeh ! that's been a sore point since we've had the Aliner - every trip, SWMBO always brings at least 8 books, weighing up to around 12-14kgs - I keep telling her if she keeps bringing more books, I'll have to turf some of her other stuff out of the van to keep the weight legal ! biggrin
