Port Lincoln South Australia

Having arrived at Port Lincoln on the first trip in our "new" two year old caravan, we have found ourselves in great difficulty with the electrics, resulting in no power and no fridge.  We would like to share information about our experience here with John Martin who services and repairs caravans.  He has a bush camp site where anyone who is self contained can camp for $5.00 per night.  He will do your repairs whilst you camp in the bush camp area, right on the edge of town.  Rain water is available for 5c per litre - where can you get camping this cheap?

As for John - he is a thorough gentleman; and has been wonderful in helping us get back on the road.  What a generous and marvellous tradesman he is.  Please support this camp site and his services, as he can repair anything that goes wrong with your caravan, even rebuild walls etc.

Hi Wilma and Kevin. Welcome to the Forum guys - and its nice to read a really valuable post.

Unfortunately, it will disappear after a week or so under the weight of newer posts on this Generla thread.

Your info is too valuable to loose, so how about copying it and then pasting it into the thread called "Budget Camping............" which is on the main page. You can select the SA section and paste it there.

Good to hear youre back on the road and have a fridge and lights again!!

We all look forward to lots more posts from you both:))

I know John well, and have been to his property many times... John is very experienced and has fixed/rebuilt many Vans through the years...can turn his hand to anything.....John lost his home in the S.Y.P. fires in January 2010 the day after he delivered a shipping container to me to my Pt Lincoln property for me to bring some of my furniture over to Victoria... ...he sent a photo to me sitting alone in his large shed which was spared, the day after he had lost so much...he was still able to smile....and I knew he would re-build.....people like John are a rarity today, loyal and caring and very fair price wise... I thoroughly recommend him as well.........if you see him again Leisureseekers could you please give him my warmest regards..Larry Hartigan.......Hoo Roo
