Well, the time have come ( well almost ) to chuck it all in, work that is, after 45 years of non stop work, it's now time for my love Shas and I to get some, us time. The 3rd July is retirement date, done and dusted. Pretty sacry really, but once the decision was made its amazing just how releived you feel. Now the excitement builds, but I think I might be driving everyone crazy with the count down app on my iPad. There isn't anyone that passes me that I don't show, My staff are really getting sick of it as many of them are younger and have many more years to wait. Look out playground here comes two more Crazy Grey Nomads.
Just tell they younger ones that by them working they are funding our travel around the country. That should make them feel better with such good use of their taxes.
Thanks everyone for the great encouragement, the positive feedback we all get from this great forum just can't be measured in words, thanks again and Yeh!!! se ya out there.
Cheers Greg & Shas

hi all. I have been semi retired since I was 55 and never regrated it I must say
but all to there own I think
hope u have fun when the time comes
enjoy
I found it took a bit of time getting used to not being a worker when I first retired, we initially did three months travelling around Western Australia and when I returned home I became more involved in volunteering in our local community and that was seven years ago now.
We have continued our annual 3-4 month trip to explore another State with regular short trips for a couple of weeks and our gardens
Look great giving us a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction, we also see heaps of our Grandchildren. We certainly couldn't sell up our home and go on the road full time as so many others have done because our van is not big enough to have the Grandchildren over for sleep overs.

Happily doing both to the Max.
Life is like a camera, focus on what's important & you will capture it every Time
Thanks everyone, we are all different and have different needs, this is becoming abundantly clear.
However we all have the love of traveling. This is our common goal. I intend to pretend I'm on holidays for the first short period, until I realise every this bliss is forever.
Don't worry I am a sixties hippy, and have been accused of wearing rose colourd glasses before today.
Reality will settle and my life will be the better for it.
Bring on July .
Cheers
Greg

Hi Graeme, mate we must be neibours, we are in Kingswood. I feel guilty now as I just read a thread about talking on the wrong thread and I think I should have started this in " I digress " not on general , I just got excited about my retirement sorry all.

Greg
